KiDs SaY THe DaRnDeSt ThIngS!!

We all know that 3 year olds have a mind of their own. Lately, Kate is definitely asserting her independence and trying my patience!! Along with that though, are the funny things kids this age think and do. I thought I would share a bit of her thoughts with you.

• Greg has been asking Kate what she wants to be when she grows up. She quickly answers 3 things. "I want to be a walker across the street, a bike rider and a lemonade stand (operator)". Very ambitious, huh?
• She loves to ask Greg and I how much we love her. She then says something like "I love you up to the Moon. I win, you lose! Yes!"
• After going through a Barney phase recently, she announced; "Barney said you have to love your family. I love my Mom, my Dad, Dalton and I'm trying to love Ty." We all bursted out laughing because it is soo true - they struggle a bit!
• Kate loves to go out to eat (hmmm..I wonder who started that!). Whenever we're out and about, she asks if we can go to the "lunchstraunt".
  

OUR BOY SCOUT
Dalton has been working really hard to complete his Wolf in Boy Scouts. This month at the Blue and Gold Banquet, he earned his Wolf as well as 1 gold arrow and 3 silver arrows. Greg and I were really proud of him for working so hard and sticking with it! Congrats Dalton!!

MoRe sNoW?

It's been a while since I've posted so I am a little late on our snow day photos. After all the snow melted in our yard, we got hit with a huge snow storm last week (or was it 2 weeks ago?) The kids are always so excited to play in the snow! Ty loves any piece of machinery he can operate, so the snow blower is a favorite. Greg was working late, so our neighbor brought over the 4-wheeler for Ty to use!! He could hardly contain the excitement!

Kate made a few snow angels, but the funniest part was when she went and got her lawn chair out to just chill and watch everyone! Life is just one big ballgame to her! (Get your lawn chair, snacks, drink and just watch it all.)

The End of Basketball 2009

Ty's Team (He's #5)

Ty and Dalton's basketball season came to an end last night. After not playing for a few years, they have had a lot of fun getting into the game again.

Dalton's Team (He's #30)

Dalton's team had a great year and only lost 2 games. They also played in a tournament in Brigham City this weekend.

Ty's team ended their season undefeated! They went to the County playoffs and made it to the second round. They did awesome considering it was their first year together! Unfortunately, my camera is not good at action shots so I don't have any fabulous pics! As for Kate, she keeps asking when we are going to a "grass" ballgame. She does not care for these indoor sports!
She won't have long to wait because Ty starts his baseball season in St. George next week!

Is It Summer Yet?
We have been getting so much snow this past week. It's so beautiful and the kids love to play in it. Ty likes to use the snow blower and is willing to help any neighbor with their driveway. Despite our love of snow, we took a break and went swimming this weekend. The kids had so much fun! Kate hadn't been in a long time, so she really loved it. She thought the lazy river was great. Ty, Dalton and Jake (Dalton's friend) played football in the pool and played in the lazy river. It was a good break from Winter!

HaPPy VaLeNTiNeS DaY 2009

Kate was really excited for Valentines this year. She didn't really know what it was, but that it invovled candy and the giving and receivng of gifts. What more could a 3 year old want? She carefully prepared all her Valentines for her Kindermusik class and neighborhood friends. She painstakingly wrote her name (her version) on each one and then put the sticker right on top of it. Woops (I'm not kidding, every one of them)! As for her Valentine, she is totally smitten with Dalton's buddy Jake.

Ty and Dalton's classes had fun Valentines parties. I sure wish I had my video camera at the party, because Dalton taught the class the "Electric Slide". I didn't even he knew how to dance! Every Valentines, Ty makes sure Mindy knows that he loves her and has since Kindergarten. Dalton pays no attention to the girls yet (thank goodness), but had fun getting lots of candy!

SUPER BOWL XLIII
The boys attended their first Super Bowl party (that they actually cared about) this year. They were both so excited that the Steelers were in it and knew that Greg's Aunt Cheryl (huge Steelers fan) would be having a party. So, Dalton went ahead and called Cheryl and invited us all to her party. So nice of Cheryl to oblige!!
I bought some fabric paints and let the boys decorate their black shirts - even Kate decorated her shirt with Polamalu as well as a kitty and dog. They looked so cool. Aunt Cheryl went all out with her decorations and food. Grandma and Grandpa Wilson were there as well as Klint and Kylie's family, so the kids mostly played until the fourth quarter. Jaxon was cheering for the Cardinals and the boys had a lot of fun teasing each other!! Thanks to Aunt Cheryl and Uncle Rod for having us over for a fun party!!

DRAPER TEMPLE OPEN HOUSE

My sister, Allie, invited us to the open house for the newest LDS temple in Draper. There are thousands of people who go through each day, so they have it set up where you meet at a local ward house and are bussed to the temple according to your appointment time. They show a short movie telling about the temple, let you walk through the temple, then have refreshments at the church house right next to the temple. I wouldn't say the boys were "excited" to go, but I hope it is something that they will remember. Ty kept asking me about the cost to build such a nice place. He couldn't believe the chandeliers! Dalton liked the baptismal font, but mostly the cookies at the end. Afterward, we went to dinner with Allie and Ryan's family. The boys had so much fun spending time with Hannah, Garrett and cousin Maggie. Thanks Allie!

SKI DAY AT SNOWBASIN

I took the boys out of school on Tuesday to go skiing. This was Ty's second time skiing and Dalton's first time boarding. They both had lessons and then had a great day skiing/boarding with Mom. Unfortunately, I didn't check my camera battery before we left so I was only able to take a few pics.
When the boys needed a break, we rode the John Paul lift to the very top and ate lunch. From the lodge, you could see where the Men's/Women's downhill courses started for the Olympics. The boys thought that was very cool and a bit scary. Ty said he will never be an Olympic skier because it's way too dangerous. He's like his Dad when it comes to safety! Dalton woke up the next day VERY soar, but I think that is normal for a first day boarder. (Plus he has no fat to cushion those falls!) As for me, no falls on the kiddie hill but my body still felt like I'd been beaten

up. It sucks to get old!! Ty loves to tell everyone that he's already better than me!

BASKETBALL BABY!!

A new season has begun and for the first time in a few years, both Ty and Dalton are playing basketball. They are both loving it and playing really good!

Dalton is lucky to have his cousin Preston on his team as well as his best friend Jake. They are having so much fun! In Dalton's first game in 2 years, he scored 4 points (the team total was 10) and was totally pumped. His friends call him D-Will, but his favorite Jazz player is Okur.

Ty's best friend Kade is on his team. So far, they are undefeated (only 2 games). The game today went into overtime. Ty scored 8 points and was really excited! Grandma and Grandpa Wilson and Grandma and Grandpa Oborn were there to see a great game.
